GUILD WHEEL WALK
IMPORTANT NOTICE PLEASE READ
To stay in line with the government and what is happening in the world today with the strict guide lines to stay in and to stay safe during this bad storm I have no other option but to postpone the Guild Wheel Walk 2020 to Saturday 29th August (Bank Holiday).
Please during this time stay active indoors or walks locally from your home staying 2 meter distance from everyone. Through this storm you have to remember about your mental health so do what you need to do, use this as a challenge to keep active, safe and mentally strong.
Some of us are still working, some work from home, some have their kids to look after, some have close family members they have to be extra careful with so whatever you do, let’s come out of this positive and stronger and most of all let’s work together and hope it all ends soon.
I want to thank you all for the support leading up to this fundraising event and I will keep this page updated. If anyone has put posters up please can you take them down and if anyone knows anyone who isn’t on Facebook who was doing the walk please inform them of this information.
Thanks again,
Chris Pilkington

The 4th anniversary of the Guild Wheel Walk. In the last 3 years this event has raised over £10,000 supporting 4 different charities. This year we are fundraising for St Catherine’s Hospice, Rainbow Hub, Derian House Children’s Hospice and Lancashire Mind. All funds raised will be split between all 4 equally, each of these organisations rely on community support which is why it means a lot with what we do. It’s only 21 miles 😁
The walk will set off from the Royal British Legion in Middleforth on Leyland Road at 0900 hours prompt with group photos before hand and briefing at 0845 hours. Last year walkers took between 5-9hours to complete with support and photographers on route. Mind over matter, you can do anything when you put your mind to it. Just walk and think about why you are doing it.
This year I am sticking with £21 per adult and anyone under 18 free. I encourage people to fundraise this as it’s only 4 sponsors at £5 each and any extra is much appreciated and will be added to the total. Sponsor sheets will be ready to be handed out in the next week so I can email them out or will be scattered about for problem to collect. This year I will be setting everyone off at 9am and 10am depending on how fast you can do it. This is to allow people to get caught up and make it more enjoyable seeing more people on route.
Registration will be open a couple of weeks prior to the event and also 2 hours before the start on the day with wrist band, t shirts, and also food provided which will be well needed after which will be cooked by the local community.
Any information please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me.
